Plucking Pure Ceylon Tea Leaves in Sri Lanka
A fresh brew

A Cup of Wilderness Tea

A Cup of Wilderness Tea

Tucked away in the wilderness at the foot of Adams Peak in Sri Lanka is a forest friendly tea plantation. Empowering the local community and producing some of the worlds most unique teas. The teas are truly artisanal with hand picked leaves from the finest and some of the oldest tea plants in Ceylon. Local farmers are essential to the plantation, each paid high rates for the leaves that they produce.

This really is a community driven project. The farmers are encouraged to preserve the forest and its biodiversity with reforestation efforts. Unique to this plantation is the truly ‘Wild Tea’, from an abandoned tea plantation planted 130 years ago by Scottish planters and now forming part of the wild forest.

Skilled pluckers climb bamboo ladders into the forest canopy to take the very top tips which are then carried out of the forest on foot.
